Getting the Right Support for Children and Young People
Identifying Need, Monitoring Interventions, Targeting Support and Making Appropriate Referrals


This personalised training course will enable you to understand and plan appropriate responses to children and young people's mental health and wellbeing needs within your setting, ensuring timely and appropriate external support is sought where required.

The course will:

  • Provide an overview of mental health and wellbeing needs and the impact this can have on children and young people
  • Offer practical approaches to identifying mental health and wellbeing needs and monitoring the impact of interventions
  • Enable you to develop a pathway process to support the identification of need and a graduated approach for your setting
  • To increase confidence in having conversations regarding mental health and ensuring that the child/young person voice is present in responses
  • Provide knowledge about local support pathways and services and ensure the confidence to access external services
  • Offer you two taught sessions in a small group, with flexibility for ongoing support from experienced trainers over 3 months
  • Facilitate the opportunity to build supportive relationships with other Senior Mental Health Leads

This course has been assured for DfE grant-funded senior mental health lead training.

Cost: £240 plus VAT

  • Day 1 (6 hours): 31st January 2022, followed by a Gap Task
  • Day 2 (3 hours): 1st Feburary 2022
  • Coaching Sessions: These will be planned to meet the needs of the course delegates
